A couple of my own minor WoT irritations:
1) If the WoT universe is a place where females are genuinely equal, even superior in some ways, then where does Rand get his infuriating 'women must be protected' attitude?
2) Nynaeve and Elayne are smart, courageous, talented women. As channelers there are few who can match them, but any wilder can channel. Being Aes Sedai is something else entirely. I wish Egwene had never raised them. Hell, I wish that Siuan hadn't wrangled them into the Accepted test to begin with.
3) The Forsaken are idiots and the DO worse. They should have united to destroy Rand and then fought among themselves. Basic strategy. Though I guess it wouldn't have made a great series ;)
I know there are others but I can't remember them now :P too sleepy! Thanks minviendha

We Know the Setting!
Okay, here's a quick rant about the Wheel of Time
series. To put it bluntly, we've read the books!
We're on book 11, it's long past time to stop writing as if we are new readers. Anyone that picks up #11
is going to be confused about the characters and events that were covered in previous books. Mr. Jordan, with all due respect, you do not need to keep explaining the same thing over and over and over!
That is the single most important aspect of New Spring
that made it such a good read (aside from the single
plot thread). Had New Spring
been written like the other books, it would have been twice as long as it explained things we already knew and understood.
[Rant for another time: it's past time to stop introducing new plot points!] Current Mood: thoughtful
